Photo Friday: 1995

My sister posted this picture on Facebook a while ago. She said it was in 1995, when I was 9 and she was 15. I don't remember it, but I can tell that she did my hair!

Photo Friday: Roses

Today James had these gorgeous roses delivered to my office. Thanks baby!!

We don't normally do Valentines Day because I'm not a fan and he's apathetic. I think it's a silly holiday, but I looooove getting flowers! I feel very loved and he did a great job.

Photo Friday: Santa Cruz trip #1

Here's us on the beach in Santa Cruz in January 2007 - our first vacation together. Before we met James wasn't a big traveler but he would soon be going all over the state with me because traveling is very important to me. We didn't know at the time that we'd be married 3 and a half years later about a mile from where this first photo was taken.

Some pics from our trip to San Diego in August 2007.

Petting dolphins at Sea World

One of my all-time favorite pics of myself, since it captures my love of milk oh-so-well! (Sea World)

Baseball game - Giants vs. Padres. We actually planned our vacation around when the Giants would be in town! Barry Bonds hit his record-breaking home run the following game. This game, he hit none.

Photo Friday: NYE

This is the fourth New Year I've been with James. Each year we've celebrated together I've taken a picture of our new year kiss...

2007 - Went to Old Sacramento to watch the annual fireworks.

2008 - We were apart this year because I was on the Big Island of Hawaii with my family.

2009 - Rose, James and I went to the new [and lame] ball drop downtown.

2010 - Celebrated with friends at a great party. More pics below.

Photo Friday: Christmas lights

Merry Christmas! I hope you're having a fantastic day and enjoying what Santa delivered. And more importantly, spending time with those you love.

Last night, James and I went to his mom's house and on the way home we drove through East Sacramento to check out the awesome Christmas lights. One of the streets had these lights going all up and down the block, as well as over it!

Photo Friday: James & Chandra

James' sister lives in Washington and he rarely gets to see her - probably once every year or two. Yesterday Chandra had a 3-hour layover here in Sacramento on her way from Washington to Florida. He was able to meet her at the airport to visit and have lunch.

I was happy for him, since they really don't see each other enough!

I got to meet her (and her husband and daughters) for the first time in August on our vacation. I loved them all!

Here's James and his youngest neice at their house in August. She and her sister are both really sweet. You may not to be able to tell from this picture, but it's true! ;)

Photo Friday / Goal #58: Thanksgiving at our house!

I took a photo of the table set for Thanksgiving dinner.

Sadly, I don't have one of it covered with food and people.

The day was great. I had such a fantastic time with my family talking, laughing and chosing our secret santa gift exchange recipients! I'm excited to shop for my person!

I also loved cooking everything. It wasn't too hard, but the most challenging part was being organized enough to make everything be done at the same time. Organization is totally my thing!

Everyone said the turkey turned out really well. That was the one thing I had never cooked before and was a little intimidated by, but it was pretty easy. I also made: Mashed potatoes, sweet potato casserole, green bean casserole, sweet corn tomalito, basil bubbles and sausage apple & cranberry stuffing.

My mom brought peach pie, pecan pie and strawberry rhubarb pie. My mother-in-law brought lumpia with sweet & sour sauce and wine.

Host Thanksiving at my house was #58 on my list of goals to accomplish by my 30th birthday. I've now completed 30 of the 100!

Photo Friday: Los Angeles

In 2006 Rose and I took a trip down to Los Angeles. We went to Disneyland, Universal Studios, Venice Beach, the Getty museum and probably more that I don't remember.

The Getty - a really cool art museum

Photo Friday: Halloween

Since last weekend was Halloween (and I didn't dress up), I'm posting pictures from Halloweens past. I don't dress up every year, but these are my favorites:

2008 - Flapper! I wish I had a better picture of the whole get-up, which included fishnet stockings, awesome flapper dress, pearls, clutch, feather boa, long gloves and headband.

This is a full-length shot, but I wasn't wearing most of the accessories.

Halloween 2008 was spent at a club with some friends from work.

I'm cutting friends out of these pictures, as I feel kind of weird about posting pictures of them where they probably don't even know about it.

2006 - Wilma Flintstone! I made my dress out of a ghost costume - I cut it into the right shape.

This was the first Halloween James and I were dating. He refused to dress up as Fred Flintstone. So lame.

I loved this costume, especially the fact that I made it all myself, including the Wilma necklace.

Halloween 2006 was a house party at the apartment of some good friends.

My idea for next year is a retro chick, kind of like this:

I'm sure I can find a totally groovy dress at a secondhand store, and some fugly accessories at the mall!

Photo Friday: Deviled eggs

Today we're having a Halloween party at work, and everyone's bringing an appetizer. I made deviled eggs.

Here's the recipe I used (omitted horseradish).

I'm not really into Halloween this year... mostly because I'm too excited about Thanksgiving! But anway - Happy Halloween!

Photo Friday: Kings Canyon National Park

My mom and I in Kings Canyon National Park,
a few days after Thanksgiving 2006.

My brother was on his high school's cross country team, and we were in the Fresno area for the state championships. Kings Canyon was beautiful, and very cold!

Photo Friday: October porch

Here are the pumpkins we picked out last Saturday at the Elk Grove Giant Pumpkin & Harvest Festival!

They're sitting on our porch, along with my new cute Halloween sign

and my autumn wreath on the door.

Photo Friday

I'm going to start posting some of my favorite photos every Friday, because it's catchy and fun... and I think it's a good idea. Sometimes they'll be photos taken by me, and sometimes they'll just be something pretty that I like. I'm having fun already!

For my first Photo Friday I went way back into my MySpace pictures to February 2006, my first trip to Hawaii. This is my brother Tom and I on the North Shore of Oahu.
