Europe Day 7: Roma, Italia

Our hotel was walking distance to the Colisseum and Palatine Hill so on day 7 we set out in the morning for a loooong day! We walked through Rome until we got to the Colisseum, and took some pictures from the outside.

Arch of Constantine - right next to the Colisseum:

Then we headed over to Palatine Hill, where the people in charge of ancient Rome lived and ruled. There's a ton to see there! We got combo tickets for both Palatine Hill and the Colisseum, so when we went to the Colisseum we didn't have to wait in line at all. We got the audio tour of Palatine Hill, but it wasn't worth it.

My cousins dubbed sites like these RRRs -
"Random Roman Ruins"

Arch of Titus:

The Roman Forum:

The amazing ancient water fountains, still in operation:

This was a garden back in the day:

The Colisseum behind us:

The Colisseum (right across the street from Palatine Hill) was amazing, as expected!

We paid a little extra for a guided tour, but I don't recommend it! It was super hard to hear.

On our way back to the hotel we stopped for gelato. Then we napped. We needed it!

Later in the night, we got dressed up for a nice dinner by the Spanish Steps, and when we got the the area everything was closing! So we just had to choose any place we could find, and it turned out to be good.

Then we headed to the Trevi Fountain!
Gorgeous, especially at night!
